Mama Needs A Blood Orange Martini

By Meg Hodson

It has been WAY too long since I posted a martini recipe!  Let's get your weekend started off right with a delicious martini.  This one uses the delicious juice of the blood orange. You might have to go to a high end grocery story, like Whole Foods, to find blood oranges.  If you can't find blood oranges, look for blood orange soda (San Pellegrino makes a great one!).

2 oz. citrus vodka
2 oz. freshly squeezed blood orange juice (or blood orange soda)
1/2 oz. lemon juice
Pinch of sugar
Splash of grenadine

Rim a martini glass with sugar. Over ice in a cocktails shaker, combine all ingredients. Shake well and strain into glass.  Garnish with a cherry or orange slice, if desired.  Enjoy!

Mama Needs A Raspberry Sunset Martini

I'm guest blogging again!  Lauren, who blogs over at Girls Gone Food, asked me to create a martini recipe for her blog.  I worked on a lot of recipes last week that involves raspberries.  I don't use them often....and I don't know why, because they are the perfect compliment!  Last week, I brought you a skinny version of a Raspberry Lemon Drop.

This week, my guest post is for a Raspberry Sunset Martini, the perfect blend of a classic vodka martini with a tropical twist.  Be sure to click on over to Girls Gone Food for the recipe!

Mama Needs A Skinny Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini

By Meg Hodson

It's been awhile since I've posted a fun recipe in my "Mama Needs A Martini" series.  So, I spent a lot of time this week working on some new recipes.  I'm a guest blogger next week with an amazing recipe, so stay tuned for that.

But today, I've got a great "skinny" version of a lemon drop, with an added twist of raspberry.  Raspberry was the focus of my recipes this week and I was happy with the results.
2 ounces citrus vodka
1 ounce Chambord raspberry liqueur
1 ounce lemon juice
1 ounce water
1 tsp. stevia
Squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Yum! Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini

Add all ingredients to a martini shaker filled with ice. Coat rim of martini glass with edge of a lemon and dust with stevia.  Shake well and strain into a martini glass.
