Today I played the memory game instead of Words With Friends
Today I took the long walk home from school with my kids because such days are numbered
Today I snuggled a few extra minutes on the couch
Today I held on a little tighter
Today I gave a few extra kisses
Today I skipped my workout and rode bikes with my kids
Today I am building a fort instead of my Facebook following
Today I let my kids stay up later so I could spend more time with them
Today I did math story problems instead of invoicing
Today I put away the iPad and read a storybook
Today I tried to appreciate the arguing and the occasional screams and cries
Today my "run" was the sidewalk in front of my house while my kids rode scooters
Today I let them eat lots of sugar
Today I didn't care they didn't eat their vegetables
Today I put someone on my shoulders because I know someday I can't
Today I squeezed someone's cheeks
Today I appreciated holding a tiny hand
Today I didn't want to take my kids to school
Today I AM looking forward to summer vacation
Today I am thankful
