The 2014 Oscars are in the record books! Well, there might be a few parties still going on as this post goes live. I have to say, it was quite the entertaining show, thanks to Ellen DeGeneres. I mean, how cool was ordering pizza? And her Oscar Selfie set a Twitter record for the most tweets. Even though it ran long, having our #OscarHop rolling made it fun and engaging!
But before the show, we began with the Red Carpet. This is something I look forward to every year, as many of my readers do! I love the fashion, the power couples, Ryan Seacrest, the FANFARE. I was displeased to come down with a severe cold/flu bug the morning of the show! But with lots of ginger ale and a little sleeping in, I was ready for the pre-show!
Overall, I thought the fashion was, hands down, one of the best years ever. There were no real eyesore standouts. Except for maybe Liza Minelli, the dresses were top notch and seemed to suit everyone's personality perfectly. Here are some of my faves! You can also visit my
Pinterest page to see my favorite dresses pinned.
1. Naomi Watts. Glittered gowns were all over the red carpet last night and Naomi added to that mix. I loved how simple it looked coupled with that amazing necklace. I also really liked her swept-up bangs.

2.
Kerry Washington. She made my list
last year and once again, she graces this recap. Baby bumps were making many appearances on the red carpet and everyone pulled off their fashion beautifully. I loved this color on Kerry and her hair was beautiful, too.

Julia Roberts. I love Julia. I just love her personality, her hair, her style. While many criticized this dress as being "goth" and dark, I guess I am partial to black and lace.

4.
Jennifer Garner. She always graces the red carpet with a classic, yet modern look. She continued the glitter trend with this spaghetti strap dress that reminded me of a flapper girl from the 1920's....in a good way.

Kate Hudson. She also made my list
last year (although she was only in attendance at the Vanity Fair party). She seems to really like dresses that have built-in shawls. Some people aren't always thrilled with this fashion detail; I seem to be able to look past this and see how comfortable she is in her style.

6.
Jared Leto. Yes, a man is making the fashion recap! I actually liked the 80's vibe Jared had as he combined the white coat, red bow tie, and black pants. And his ombre hair was charming.
