Ahhh, I love Barkeeper's Best Friend products! I actually went to them to tell them how great I think their products are and if I could do a giveaway on my blog. They were generous enough to oblige.
I love the background story on this company that began in 1882:
In 1882, an Indianapolis chemist noticed how clean and shiny his tarnished pot was after cooking rhubarb. Using an active ingredient that’s found in the plant he formulated a talcum-smooth cleanser and sold it to the city’s taverns. So pleased were his customers with how well it worked on bar fixtures, the product was dubbed the “Bar Keepers Friend.”
The same non-bleach formula that put a shine to the brass rails of taverns at the turn of the century is used in households today on stainless steel, porcelain and ceramic surfaces among many others.
Today, Bar Keepers Friend is still made in Indianapolis and is found at retailers across the United States and in many other countries.
Their product line includes the original powder cleanser, a creamy stove top cleaner, a powder cleanser specifically for cookware, a general use creamy cleanser, and a spray foam cleaner. They sent me these products to sample and try. I had previously used their original powder cleanser, but had yet to try their other products.
I like to think of all their cleaning products like the popular "eraser" sponges that many use today. While those sponges are filled with chemicals, the Barkeeper's Best Friend's products are free of bleach and other such chemicals. So, stains that riddle your kitchen sink, that coffee stain you can't get out, that grime in the tub that doesn't come clean.....they do with these cleaners! Think beyond your house, too. It works great on stainless steel, so they suggest using it on the chrome on your tires, tools, bicycles, golf clubs, even cymbals on drums. Who knew?!
The company was nice enough to offer a 2nd basket of the goodies you see above to giveaway to my readers! You will get all 5 products above, presented in a beautiful basket. The contest is open to residents of the USA and Canada.
I LOVE this stuff! It's awesome on my stainless steel pots and pans.
ReplyDeleteI know! I also use it on my white kitchen sink and it makes it absolutely sparkling clean and white again.

Candice, thanks for dropping by. They really are....and they are so economically priced, too! The powder cleanser in particular is very concentrated and a great price.
DeleteOMG I just started using this. My husband burnt some food on the stove a few years ago that I was never able to get off. It was like magic! I have been trying to find the foam but no luck yet. Barkeepers friend where have you been all my life?
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finally found it! Good luck with the giveaway.
DeleteI'm a full-time drummer. I use Barkeepers Friends as a cymbal cleaner. It's fast, easy and works very well! Over my 40+ year career of drumming I've used everything. Barkeepers Friend works the BEST for the money, time and effort.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is a drummer, too, and I had no idea you could use these on cymbals. I think he will be VERY excited!
DeleteI use the powder all the time and would love to try the other products
ReplyDeleteWould love to give these a try!
ReplyDeleteYou will love them! I use this for most of my cleaning (except windows). I sometimes add a few drops of essential oil for a clean, fresh scent. Lavender and tea tree oil work great!
