I first want to start this post with an apology. It's been a good week and a half since I've had a blog post (beyond my weekly Bloglovin' Blog Hop). I know all us bloggers hit those dry patches, are lacking a little inspiration, or are just plain busy. For me, I think it was a mix of all three of those factors.
So, this post finds me on day 2 of a family vacation to Cleveland, Ohio. My husband's family is primarily located here, so we try to make a trip 1-2 times a year to visit. Our summer jaunts are filled with lots of fun activities that my kids' grandparents have mapped out with care: amusement park fun, baseball games, outdoor activities, swimming, and more.
The week leading up to our departure is one filled with sleepless nights (by the kids), packing, laundry, packing, laundry, my frantic behavior as I try to get every last bit of work done for my wedding business, did I mention laundry (?), and a lot of mental energy preparing the house and us for leaving.
It's all worth it, though. The kids LOVE these trips! It's exhausting but gratifying. And I know we are building memories for them to last forever.
What family trips are you taking this summer?
We actually just set up a trip to Splish Splash, which a water park about 50 minutes away from us for 2 weekends from now for the kids and a few of our friends are joining, too. Mostly though it has been local now if nothing else, but still fun times. And don't worry, you are right we all hit those dry spells for sure!!
