My college days are over. I worked through both undergraduate work, as well as a Master's. When I was in college, you could only get your books through the campus bookstore. You, of course, could sell them back the following quarter.....at a fraction of what you paid. Or, you could buy used from the get go....and ultimately not get much money back at all when you were done with the book.
It never occurred to me there could be the option to rent textbooks? What a great idea! I recently found out about a great company, Campus Book Rentals. They invited me to share the advantages of their service and website. Here is a summary of the perks involved:
-Save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-Free shipping both ways
-Yes, you CAN highlight in the textbooks
-Flexible renting periods
-Easily search by author, keyword, title, or isbn
Here's a great video that shows you exactly how the program works:
And if that's not enough, they have a great new program called Rent Back. RentBack is new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students... which is awesome because it makes them 2-4 times more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options! (selling their books back at the end of the semester) Isn't that awesome?!
I just wish such a service had been around when I was in school. So, if you're looking for a great way to save a little money and make the most of the textbooks you need to buy, I highly recommend checking them out!
Renting textbooks? Sounds so much more affordable! Some of those books can be hundreds of dollars!!! My nursing books were... let's not even talk about it. That was over ten years ago and I still want to get sick when I think about how much I had to pay! I have twins graduating high school next year so this is VERY interesting to me. Thank you. Swinging through with the blog hop. Check me out @ www.feelingtheemptynest.com when you have time. Thanks!
