Hey Oscar fans! Hopefully you are anticipating the show on Sunday with excitement. Hopefully you've linked up on our Oscar Blog Hop that began earlier today. If you didn't read our fun column on Celebrity Oscar Moms, you can read it here.
But the real fun will happen Sunday during the Red Carpet "pre-show" and Oscar broadcast. We hope you will join us (and many of your fellow blogging buddies) for a Twitter and Instagram party. It's easy to take part in the fun. I've outlined the guidelines below:
1. Use The Hashtag #oscarhop. The red carpet coverage on E! begins at 2:30 PST (5:30 EST). When you enter your tweet or Instagram photo, be sure to add the hashtag #oscarhop after your description. That way, your tweet or photo will be included in the stream. Feel free to also use the hashtag #oscars, which a lot of tweeters will be using, too. That will increase our exposure. Feel free to tag relevant tweeters who might be interested in this topic.
If you are new to Twitter parties or Instagram hashtag projects, it's easy to follow. In Twitter, go to the "Discover" subcategory and enter the hashtag #oscarhop. Then, you will see the stream of tweets that have been entered with that hashtag. The more tweeting and retweeting, the better. If you are using Instagram, go the "Explore" section (it's the icon across the bottom that looks like a compass). Once there, enter the hashtag #oscarhop in the search box at the top of the screen. There, you will see all photos that have that hashtag attached to them.
2. Promote Like Crazy. As you see tweets and Instagram photos come through, like them, favorite them, retweet them! That will increase the media presence of the party. Please share this blog post with the share buttons below. I will be sharing the above photo via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram quite frequently. Feel free to copy and share from there....or you can copy the image above directly and share. Let's create a buzz!!
3. Have Fun. Whether there is 10 of us partying or 200 hundred of us (I can only wish!), let's have fun and make new friends.
