Idol, Here I Come!

It all started with a tweet, directly from American Idol.  I'm fairly Twitter-savvy and know (most of the time) if something is suspicious or an account is not verified.  But this was the real deal, AMERICAN IDOL tweeting me, and subsequently following me.  The tweet instructed me to direct message them about an exclusive event in L.A.  Sounded easy enough.  So I did.  

Hopes did not rise too high, I was being realistic.  For all I know, they had tweeted thousands of people. But the next day, I got en email, describing an exclusive event for fans and bloggers.  I wanted in and got subsequent confirmations.  It was slowly starting to become more and more real.  I still didn't want to start doing cartwheels.  

I decided to poke around the American Idol website a little.  They have a live stream of their tweets and I just happened to (thankfully) see one from one of the other bloggers who had been contacted.  She had started a separate profile, @idoltweethearts, along with the hashtag #idoltweethearts.  Before you know it, I'm connecting with 10 or so of the influencers who had been invited.  We have been active on social media, tweeting with each other, private messaging.  We are already a tight knit group....and we haven't even met each other yet or gotten to L.A.!  So, this is really happening. This is going to be one amazing and memorable experience.  I'm honored to be a part of it.
