I Called Nordstrom....And They Picked Up!

I had a hectic moment this weekend. My daughter has a dance recital coming soon and her dance photos are happening today.  I had put off buying the white canvas Keds sneakers she needed to complete her costume and she needed them for photos.  I made a special trip to the store the director recommended to buy them; they were nearly sold out and my daughter's size was not available.  

Upon returning home, I started prowling websites to see who offered this classic sneaker.  Kohl's, Macy's, Stride Rite, Nordstrom.  I began calling all of my local branches of these stores, seeing if I could track them down.  Upon each call, I heard the quintessential computer-operated voice system that would conveniently directly my call to where it needed to go.  
I was pleasant surprised when I called my favorite local Nordstrom store.  Within 2 rings, my call was answered by "Jenny".  A real person answered!  I said "Children's Shoes, please" and within moments, I was speaking with an associate in that department.  Unfortunately, they did not carry that particular shoe at their location, but she offered to call all local stores for me to try and track them down.  Then she offered to check their website as well.  

I've always loved Nordstrom and their level of customer service.  This experience just added to my praise for the company.  Not only did a real person answering the phone cut down on my time to actually reach an employee, but it just made the experience pleasant.  Add on the great service that the shoe department associated gave me, and it was a win-win situation (even though they didn't find the shoes for me).  Who am I going to call first next time?  Without a doubt, Nordstrom.

  1. I love Nordstrom's too and you are so right about their customer service and have only had good experiences there. And I too had to track down Capezio tights for my daughters upcoming dance recital this weekend, so I know the feeling all to well!!

    1. Oh yes, thankfully we've got all the correct tights, nudies, etc. from last year in good shape!

  4. I have to agree with you. I love Nordstrom. Their customer service is excellent. I also loooove Nordstrom Rack because of the great finds at better prices than the regular store but their CS is nowhere up to the regular Nordy's store standards.
