Well, we are in the full holiday swing of things, right? It's such a fun time of year, especially if you have children. I love the tradition that Christmas is and creating memories for my children to last many years to come.
I love to cook and I come from a family who passes down recipes. I also love to create new recipes (as is evident from my blog!) that will hopefully be passed down, too. There are those certain recipes that I make year after year that are now expected at the table.....and I love that.
Pompeian Olive Oil has a clever way to capture some of those recipes that you want to treasure forever. They have an easy-to-use label maker on their Facebook page. They are easy to print out and fit easily on a 24 ounce bottle of Pompeian Olive Oil.
The recipe I created on the label maker is a new one, Savory Rosemary Pecans. I am crazy excited about it because they turned out so darn delicious! Best of all, it's an easy appetizer to serve at home or to bring to a party. It's quick and easy yet very gourmet.
Savory Rosemary Pecans
Ingredients
- 3 tbl. Pompeian Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tbl. dried rosemary
- 1/2 tsp. granulated garlic
- 1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
- 1 tbl. sugar
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- 2 cups raw pecans
- In a case iron skillet or medium frying pan, add Pompeian olive oil and all spices. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring until incorporated. Add pecans and continue to cook, stirring constantly, for 5-6 minutes. Be careful not to burn the pecans! Remove from heat and serve immediately. Store in an airtight container for serving later. Best served warm.
Do you have a recipe that you want to pass down? Chances are your cooking might call for the first and only extra virgin olive oil to carry the USDA Quality Monitored Seal, Pompeian also has a wide family of products including blended oils, vinegars, cooking wines and cooking sprays for all your holiday cooking needs.
